Tuvalu
2023

Tuvalu is a nation on the front lines of climate change, facing the imminent loss of its land due to rising sea levels. To raise global awareness, Tuvalu launched a campaign to become the world’s first digital nation—preserving its culture, sovereignty, and identity in a virtual space. As part of this initiative, a compelling landing page was developed to introduce the concept to the world. The landing page uses story telling through animations with a digital replica of the first islet to be under water and uninhabitable, live Tuvalu data, and a form to demand action and sent directly to the world's environmental leaders. Future phases of the project aim to digitally preserve the language, customs, history and replicas of other islets .
This campaign was presented by former Minister for Justice, Communication & Foreign Affairs, Simon Kofe, at COP27 (2022 UN Climate Conference). The campaign received more than 16 awards, including the Dan Wieden Titanium Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. I was part of a team of three front end developers responsible for building the initial phase of Tuvalu's landing page, contributing to both the storytelling experience and the technical execution of this important campaign.
